Why Locals Love Auntie's morning porridge
Auntie's Morning Porridge is a charming and authentic porridge stall nestled in the heart of Bangkok’s Ratchathewi district. Specializing in comforting Thai-style rice porridge (congee), this humble vendor offers an experience that goes far beyond a typical breakfast stop. Rather than a conventional shop, Auntie's Morning Porridge operates from a modest pushcart with a few tables arranged along the pathway, creating a quaint and intimate atmosphere that invites locals and visitors alike to savor a warm, hearty start to the day.
The menu boasts a variety of porridge options brimming with generous ingredients that appeal to both the adventurous and traditional palates. Among the crowd favorites is the famed “Super Mixer (number 12),” a layered bowl overflowing with tender cuts of pork, savory salted egg, shrimp, and mushrooms—each spoonful delivering a rich tapestry of flavors and aromas. Reviewers frequently applaud the porridge’s smooth, velvety texture which perfectly balances the subtle sweetness of the rice with the savory depth of the meat and seafood.
Many guests have noted that despite the simple setup, the porridge here is crafted with care and consistency. One satisfied customer described waking up early just to experience the delicious comfort of this dish, a testament to its addictive quality. Another praised the “perfect combination” of tender, flavorful pork and the mildly salty salted egg, while others loved the spicy kick added by the freshly ground pepper and chili condiments available on the side. The fast and friendly service, even during busy mornings, ensures that you can enjoy your meal without long waits.
The seating is limited and cozy, often encouraging a communal dining vibe as diners share tables amidst the bustling street life. This setup adds a uniquely local charm that enhances the overall experience—eating here feels like a peek into everyday Bangkok, intimate and genuine. Conveniently located just a short walk from nearby hotels such as First House Hotel, Auntie’s Morning Porridge makes a perfect first stop for those wanting an authentic taste of Thai breakfast culture.
Whether you are a porridge aficionado or simply in search of a soothing, flavorful meal to energize your morning, Auntie’s Morning Porridge will leave you with a comforting, memorable impression. It’s the kind of hidden gem that turns simple ingredients into soulful nourishment, creating a connection that goes beyond the meal itself.

Tasty porridge with lots of ingredients, must try the super mixer (number 12). Some seats available for dining in. I always make it a point to wake up early to eat her porridge despite being a late riser.

Went on sunday 7.45am, not really crowded. It’s just 5 mins walking distance from First House Hotel. Easy to find. Ordered pork porridge (50baht), with egg and mixed pork. Porridge in smooth texture, delicious! There’s few tables and seats at pathway for dine in. — Visited 21 November 2019 —

This is probably the best under-rated comfort food in Bangkok. The congee has got such smooth texture. Ideal breakfast to start a day.

The place looks different from others reviews photo. There's no shop, only a push cart and a tiny table. It would be difficult to eat there if you have a large group. Taste good, a lot of ingredients. The meat inside very tender and the salted egg very nice not too salty perfect combination.

Got breakfast here because i like porridge and after watch Thai Movie and the grandma sell porridge, i want it badly. Near my stay, always see this stall crowded, I ordered porridge with pitan’s egg, shrimp, mushroom. The service was fast, i ordered for dine-in and because of limited space, i joined with other guest. The porridge really hot, i added pepper and chili so it quiet spicy + hot. I love their shrimp, fresh and fat. The porridge had verybthick texture and tasty, but it will be watery i no-time. I paid 100 baht for this, not cheap like other breakfast option at pratunam.

Pretty good. Very small stall. Area is touristy and not easy to get by car to due to traffic.

Have always stayed around this area but didn't know the existence of this famous porridge stall around this Pratunam area. I was introduced to this stall by a friend whom frequent this stall whenever she comes to Bangkok. Since the hotel I am staying is near, decided to check them out one morning. Upon reaching, was greeted by the long queue. The food cart is in the alley right next to 93 hotel, not hard to find since there always a queue. There was at least 10people infront of me when I first joined the queue but it moved pretty fast. Ordered item no.2 on the menu, which essentially is pork ball porridge with soft boiled egg. If i didn't remember wrongly, paid 60baht for my food. Limited seating spaces, had to share table with strangers. Porridge was tasty, meat ball was tender and well marinated. However, the portion was a little small. Overall, not bad, wouldn't mind eating again in the future!
